ADOPTION OF THE CONSTITUTION
The Bolsover District u3a constitution sets out the guidelines to run our branch of the u3a, and has been approved by the National office.
This constitution was adopted on the 5th of May 2021.
The association and its property will be administered and managed by the elected committee of the bdu3a.

Code of Conduct
U3A members are expected to conduct themselves within the movements “guiding principles”. They are expected to treat each other with dignity and respect.

We have a number of policies set up to cover the smooth running of things. These guidelines help us decide in forwarding the u3a movement.
2015-2017
Accessibility Policy
Bolsover District U3A is committed to ensuring that the U3A is as inclusive and accessible as possible for those in their third age who meet the criteria for membership.

Data Protection
The policy details how personal information will be gathered, stored and managed in line with data protection principles and the General Data Protection Regulation.

Safeguarding Policy
This policy is to address issues where there are safeguarding concerns. Safeguarding includes incidents between members, concerns regarding abuse or neglect that a U3A member may be experiencing outside of the U3A, health-related issues or previous or pending criminal convictions.
This policy has been drawn up to comply with the Equality Act 2010. The Act stipulates that organisations cannot treat someone unfairly.

Legitimate interest policy
The reason that Bolsover District U3A requests contact details for members next of kin is so that the committee and/or group conveners know who to contact in the event of an emergency.

The policy details shows how Bolsover District U3A treats your privacy rights seriously. This privacy policy sets out how we will deal with your ‘personal information, that is, information that could identify, or is related to the identity of, an individual.
